  • 1. Demonstrate knowledge of the foundations of the arts area.
  • 1A. Analyze how the elements of visual art including color, line, shape, value, form, texture and space; and principles such as repetition, pattern, emphasis, contrast and balance are combined to communicate meaning in the creation of, presentation of, or response to visual artworks.

    • After learning about lettering, students are to make an illustration and describe it with a word. Students should create an original font that relates to the illustration. (See examples below.)

    2 points -- Nice arrangement of word and drawing(s)
    2 points -- Originality of the font used
    3 points -- 3-d Shading/Blending and Contrast
    3 points -- Illustration and word relate to each other
    10 points total.
