Resin and Metal Casting

International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standards

  • 1. Empowered Learner -- Students leverage technology to an active role in choosing, achieving and demonstrating competency in their learning goal, informed by the learning sciences.

    After making the silicone mold, students must make a cast of their object in resin and Metal.

    We use Pewter to cast objects in metal. Pewter melts at about 475 degrees F.

    Evaluation:
    3 points -- Metal Prep and Utilization of Safety precautions
    3 points -- Minimal bubbles in cast parts
    4 points -- 2 Casts cleaned up and deflashed properly
