  • 1. Demonstrate knowledge of the foundations of the arts area.
  • 1A. Analyze how the elements of visual art including color, line, shape, value, form, texture and space; and principles such as repetition, pattern, emphasis, contrast and balance are combined to communicate meaning in the creation of, presentation of, or response to visual artworks.

    • Home made gift tags are shown in class and some techniques demonstrated. Students follow along as the teacher demonstrates how to draw simple items like birds, reindeer, Santa face, Snowmen, etc. Quilling, and template making (holly leaf) is also demonstrated.

    Students are to make FOUR gift tags of their own design utilizing layered paper and marker, colored pencil, quilled, or painted designs.

    Elements that must be included are:
  • At least two layers of paper, one forming a "frame"
  • Nice graphic
  • Original tag shape and hole to tie tag to gift.

    3 points -- Includes all elements listed above
    3 points -- Good utilization of Template Graphic or illustration
    4 points -- Quality and workmanship
