  • Layered painting
    • Now students have a choice to make a painting on a stretched canvas. This is a large project where they can choose their subject matter and painting style.

    Using techniques learned in previous lessons about landscape painting and impressionism, students are to make a paining of their choice that includes blending and nicely composed objects/shapes. Students may choose to model their painting off of a photograph or another painting.

    Evaluation:
    4 points -- Pleasing arrangement of objects/shapes
    4 points -- Good use of blending (No flat colors)
    6 points -- Good composition
    6 points -- Effective use of highlights and shading

    20 points total.
