Watercolor techniques are illustrated by the teacher while students follow along and practice each technique on their paper. The following day students are given a couple sheets of paper where they are to experiment with the techniques, making little swatches that use the techniques discussed (discovered) yesterday. They then cut the swatches out and mount them to a backing paper/board and label each technique.

Evaluation:
1 point -- Correctly and nicely illustrating each technique.
2 points -- neatness of the labels and final presentation.
