    • The teacher demonstrates how to make a quick slab-built pot and other vase shapes the first day.

    The next day the teacher demonstrates how to use the wheel to make various items that could be added to the slab-built pot. After the demo, images of hand-built pots with wheel-thrown additions are shown as inspiration.

    Students use their knowledge of and experience with handbuilding techniques to to construct a vase, then throw a neck (or other part) on the wheel and attach it.
