Wheel Thrown Bowl

The instructor demonstrates the process of making bowls on the potter's wheel. A variety of bowl shapes are made and their practicality discussed.

The teacher demonstrates the process of wedging clay, using the potter's wheel, and properly cleaning up afterward.

The instructor has leather-hard bowl shapes ready to demonstrate the trimming process as well.

Students are required to make a few practical bowl shapes, and trim a foot on the bottom. One can then be chosen to be graded.

2 points -- Practical/usable shape
2 points -- Trimmed foot
3 points -- Quality and workmanship
