Pattern and Repetition (Halloween)
Students are given a large piece of black paper, white pencil or pen, and a penny. Their job is to fill the paper with pattern and repeated shapes so that no space larger than a penny is left unfilled.
Depending on the season, the teacher may demonstrate simple ways of drawing ghosts, skulls, and haunted houses for halloween, or leaves and fall things for Thanksgiving, or Flowers and ladybugs for spring.
