Relief is a sculpture where shallow depth establishes the images. This is a fun little paper relief sculpture assignment that helps students think creatively in a fun and easy assignment.
A cone of paper forms the head of this sculpture. Students are to make a cartoony character out of a cone and strips of curled paper. The curled paper could form hair or other interesting textures like scales (or anything else they can think of.)
In addition to the student examples below some professional paper artwork can also be shown for inspiration.
