Well, Little Girl, you've gotta know that with each passing day you're becoming cuter and cuter. I LOVE your little smile! You are smiling more now and it's not just random. We can make you smile by tickling you or talking to you. Your oldest brother Drew can tickle your cheeks in a special way and you smile so big! Only he seems to be able to do that, which makes him feel pretty special. When you're awake you look around all over like you're learning more and more about this great big world you're experiencing. You're experimenting with your voice now too. You are talking to us! When we hold you and talk to you after you've eaten, your mouth starts moving and, after a bit of work, a cute little sound comes out.

Here's some news: I started your "7-and-a-half-week-old" portrait in clay this weekend. It's amazing to see the sculptures of your brothers and sisters when they were your age. Looking at the sculptures, you can tell which one is which. Some day I'll hold that little sculpted head in my hands and remember how little and cute and fragile you were. What wonderful memories you're giving us as you grow!

We all love you very much, Quinn!

Thank you dear Lord for giving our family Quinn Mary Kulzer. She is such a beautiful healthy, happy baby. Our prayers were answered. We will enjoy watching her grow and learn so many things from her brothers and sisters. They are big helpers and will be great teachers too. We are proud of our grandchildren! Congratulations to your family Gerry and Karen. On the Feast of the Assumption of Mary into heaven, Quinn Mary will be baptized and become a new member of our faith family.

Hay little girl, you gave us a scare today! After a few hours of labor, the nurses found that your umbilical cord was out of mommy but you weren't. It's not supposed to happen that way because it makes the blood stop flowing to you and you can't breathe. Dr. Strei was called and only a minute later she was here helping your mom. They took Mommy to the surgery room and explained to me what was happening. A few minutes later they came back and told me that I had a new healthy little girl. I was so worried about you and Mom. Karen had to stay in the recovery room for a long time afterwards so she didn't get to see you until 2 hours later.

I sure love you!

As I work on this website I'm anxious to meet you face to face. I've felt you kicking inside Mommy's tummy and seen a grainy ultrasound picture of you, but those things are nothing compared to actually holding you in my arms.

I need to tell you what an amazing Mother you have. She hasn't had an easy time throughout this pregnancy, but she doesn't complain and has worked through all the little (and big) problems with an amazing strength of heart and will. I know you'll love her very much, but I'm afraid the love you have for her won't even come close to the love I feel for her. She is the most wonderful woman in the world and I love her beyond compare. She really is a great mommy.

See you soon!
Love,

Dad
