International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standards

  • 1. Empowered Learner -- Students leverage technology to an active role in choosing, achieving and demonstrating competency in their learning goal, informed by the learning sciences.

    Students are shown a variety of professionally photographed food as inspiration. Details of each photo are discussed in class, including Composition, Lighting, Focus, Color choices, Use of Additional help/assistants, etc.

    Students are to photograph a food item or whole meal with a home made lighting set up including a light and reflector. The finished photo will be turned in with no Photoshop work.

    Two photos (.jpg files) will be turned in: The finished photo AND a picture showing the "setup" including the reflector, assistants, lighting, etc.

    Evaluation:
    2 points -- Food arrangement (looks appetizing, fresh, arranged nicely on plate/table/board/whatever)
    3 points -- Lighting Set up (Showing reflector and maybe external light source.)
    5 points -- Finished photo (Composition,Lighting, focus effects)
    10 points total
