490 Digital Photography

 

Course Description:

This course is open to students interested in exploring the world of digital photography and digital image editing.  The course will focus on basic photo composition, portrait photography, preparing digital photos for printing, and digital image manipulation.  Approximate material cost: $15.

Composition photography assignments(Take 16 photos for each assignment. Color correct and turn in best 4):

  • Patterns, Textures, Plants, Animals or Insects-Also use Macro for at least 4 photos.

Photo Editing-Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator

  • Collage(use at least 6 photos and blending them with layer masks.)
  • Photo Color Correction(use Photoshop Curves Layer and the Sharpen Filters)-Must be done to the 4 Composition photos.
  • Selective Color(Using the Black and White Adjustment layer and layer mask)
  • Damaged Photo Restoration
  • Custom Portrait(Drawn in Adobe Illustrator then exported to Adobe Photoshop and painted)
  • Portrait Retouching(Retouch all portraits that are turned in)

Studio Photography

  • Head Shot Portraits(24 Portraits turn in the best 4)
  • Triflector(24 Portraits turn in the best 2)
  • Outdoor Senior Portrait(Take 24 turn in the best 4)
