Kulzer Christmas 2010

Drew (11 years old), Theo (9), Anissa (7) Therese (5) and Quinn (2) would like, along with myself and Karen, to wish all of you a Merry Christmas.

Preparing for Christmas at the Kulzer house can be a lot of fun. We have quite a few helpers here to keep things moving but coordinating those helpers takes a multitasking master. Thank goodness Karen is a capable coordinator.

As parents we know we're getting old(er) when our kids take the initiative to decorate. Drew and Theo asked if we had any extra strings of lights around the house. Karen gave them our old sets and they found the bad bulbs, made all the lights work again and hung them around the perimeter of their room. Impressive feat of engineering there.

This year Drew moved into the public school. He's now a 6th grader at Litchfield Middle School. He says he likes his teachers and the freedom given to middle school students, but I'm not sure if he likes walking to school every day with his dad. I, on the other hand, am enjoying having him to myself for a few minutes every day.

Even though Drew moved on from St. Philip's school, it doesn't mean we can save the tuition money we paid for him. Therese is now in Kindergarten at St. Philip's school. She's enjoying school as much as the other kids were. Which is a relief for me because I didn't think she'd enjoy having to work on letters and numbers so much.

Anissa is preparing for her first communion and is the best reader in her class. She devours books just like Drew. They both are reading way above their age level and making me a very proud father.

Theo is our best babysitter. He's always so considerate and tries to please his parents whenever he can. He's the first to help when we need the driveway shoveled and is always quick to do what we need done. He and Quinn have a special bond. Theo plays with her so much that she always calls for him at night when she's sad or scared.

And speaking of Quinn... She's finally starting to put words together and talk more. If I get some time tonight I'll record their voices and post some audio files here to tickle your ears.

We want to thank all of you for your goodness this past year. We wish all of you a happy and exciting 2011.
