Kulzer Christmas 2009

This is really cutting it close. Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and I'm just starting this little website. Procrastinator, I am.

Quick summary of the year: Pretty uneventful. I wouldn't fault you for reading no further because of the lack of excitement here. No new kids were born and nothin' real earth-shattering happened.

The picture on our Christmas card this year was taken during the most memorable part of 2009. Well, for us at least. We didn't take a real vacation with the kids this summer (for reasons I won't go into here). --Until the weekend of Sept. 26. We were finishing up breakfast dishes when Karen said, "I'd sure like to be in Duluth right now." I agreed and said, "Let's just go." So we packed clothes for 7 people (all 5 kids and us), packed a few snacks, a picnic lunch, hopped into the car and left. That was the most spontaneous thing we've done for a long time! The kids were good and we all had a great time throwing rocks into the lake and playing along the shore. Anissa says the best part was visiting the nature center and hiking the trails. Surprising since she's our most easily scared kid and the one who will "glomp" on to your leg when someone says hi to her. The weather was perfect and everything was beautiful. In fact, the clouds on our banner above could be seen on our way out of Duluth.

Merry Christmas to all of our friends and family. We wish you all a healthy and productive 2010!

Ger.
