    • Students are introduced to the art work of Paul Soldner and Don Reitz through a brief slideshow. Other slapped slab pieces are shown as well.

    Next the teacher does a demonstration of how to make slabs of clay using the slap method. Students are shown how to easily make a vessel form using the slapped slabs.

    Impressed texture techniques (such as shoe prints) are also discussed as well as possible colorant additives to the clay, such as Cobalt and Copper Carbonate or Iron Oxide.
