  • Organic Shapes
    • Students are shown how to make a thin walled pot with slabs, pinch, coil and on the wheel techniques. When the pots are leather hard an Xacto knife is used to cut through the wall of the pot in random small holes. This could kind of simulate an organic pattern or even illustrate a recognizable image.

    Illustrated below are both hand-built and wheel-thrown examples.












    Evaluation:
    3 points -- Random, organic holes or meticulous geometric holes
    3 points -- Clean rounded edges on holes
    2 points -- Thin elegant pot shape
    2 points -- Very Smooth exterior
