A quick review demonstration of coil building is done, referring back to their first primitive fired pot. Drying techniques are discussed and "leather hard" is emphasized as a way to get the height without collapsing.
Smoothing with a rib is demonstrated as well as paddling the pot to compress the clay and give an interesting texture.
A short video is shown about how Adam Field makes his large pots is shown.
Student pots must be at least 12 inches high.
