    • The teacher demonstrates how to roll out and build with clay slabs. Different techniques for making covers are demonstrated as well. Students are to use rolled-out slabs of clay to make some sort of covered container that includes a sculpted low-relief design.

    Evaluation:
    2 points -- Unusual or interesting shape
    2 points -- Good exterior relief decoration
    3 points -- Quality and workmanship (seams are tight, edges smooth, etc.)
    3 points -- Cover fits nicely
