5th Grade Industrial Technology Description/Standards

  • 1. Demonstrate knowledge of fractions as used in measurements.

    • The teacher demonstrates how to tool leather. The leather is first wed down. Then students may use the leather tooling dies to emboss designs into their bookmark. A final coat of Leather Balm is added to seal and enrich the color.

    Evaluation:
    4 points -- Nice pattern/design
    4 points -- Embossed nicely (not too deep, not too shallow)
    2 points -- Finish applied correctly
