Texture Perspective Environment

After an intensive lecture/demonstration of various Perspective techniques, students are to draw their own imaginary environment that includes simulated textures and shapes/objects drawn in correct perspective.

Examples of a cylinder drawn in perspective is shown to illustrate how Linear Perspective techniques can make our drawings more accurate.

Examples of Escher's work are shown and referenced as examples for this assignment. Minecraft examples as well a other drawn examples are shown

Perspective techniques include:
  • one point perspective room
  • Two Point perspective Boxes (open and closed)
  • Two Point perspective fence with proportionally spaced fenceposts
  • Two Point perspective checkerboard
  • 4 point rotated object(s)
  • 3 point tall buildings

  • (An instruction page for drawing boxes and ellipses in Perspective can be downloaded here.)

    Evaluation:
3 points -- 4 unique textures visible in the drawing
4 points -- Correct use of perspective
3 points -- Objects and textures are visible from a distance (good contrast)

    10 points total.
