Students are to bring in an object that they'd like to paint. Then, given a short review of 6 painting styles (Renaissance, Impressionism, Post Impressionism, Cubism, Abstract Expressionism, and Pop Art) students paint a "portrait" of their object so that it illustrates a specific painting style. They are required to do the object 4 times using 4 of the 6 different styles. The finished paintings are usually mounted on a piece of foam core or heavy board.
