  • 1. Demonstrate knowledge of the foundations of the arts area.
  • 1A. Analyze how the elements of visual art including color, line, shape, value, form, texture and space; and principles such as repetition, pattern, emphasis, contrast and balance are combined to communicate meaning in the creation of, presentation of, or response to visual artworks.

  • 1b. Evaluate how the principles of visual art such as repetition, pattern, emphasis, contrast and balance are used in the creation of, presentation of, or response to visual artworks.

  • Human Anatomy
    • The teacher demonstrates how he draws hands. A simple triangle example is done first. (See illustration A) Next a more complicated approach is illustrated. (See illustration B)

    Students are to copy 10 hands from the given hand out and then draw two more from life using their hands as reference.

    Evaluation:
    3 points -- Neatness of copied hands
    3 points -- Accuracy of copied hands
    4 points -- 2 original drawings of hands from life
    10 points total.
