    • Students are taken through the steps required to stretch a canvas. When they are finished with the previous assignment they may start putting their frame together and getting their canvas prepared. This assignment is the culmination of all our previous work and should be an extraordinary piece of art. It is also very open ended so students are free to paint anything they like.



    Evaluation:
    4 points -- Background (no flat colors)
    6 points -- Neatly stretched canvas (tight, clean folds, proper application of gesso, etc.)
    5 points -- Good composition and center of interest
    5 points -- Blending to form three-dimensionality
