Easter Grass Pots

The teacher demonstrates how to roll out a large slab of clay and cut it into a circular shape, then add coils to make it higher. Demonstrations of additive relief sculpture as well as carved relief sculpture are also shown.

A demonstration about how to make a cave-like structure is also shown

Students are to make a large flat clay bowl with feet and exterior decoration that can be planted with grass. The bowl should have meaningful decoration around the outside. The cave will be made with a disk/stone so they can roll away the stone on Easter day.

The teacher will bring in soil and grass seed after the pieces are fired so that students can plant grass during lent and have it grow lush for Easter.
