Drawing on brown Cave Paper
Students are shown images from prehistoric caves at Lascaux, France as well as some Native American Locations.
We talk about how the prehistoric people would have made the paintings and what type of tools could have been used.
Students rip the edges of a brown paper and crinkle it up to make it more"ancient like the walls of a cave.
Students are given handouts filled with basic shapes and symbols that they can use for inspiration in their cave paper pieces. Sharpie markers are used to draw their cave art after which brown, yellow, and red oil pastel or crayon is added in places for color.
