Minnesota K-3 Visual Art Standards Used in This Lesson:

    • Students are shown a examples of stained glass as inspiration.
    The teacher demonstrates how to paint cooking oil on the paper with a cotton ball. (trays of cotton balls with a little oil in the tray) Next crayons are used to color each "pane" of glass. When the paper is held up to the light, it looks transparent like stained glass.
