AutoCad 3 Architectural Drafting

Now that students have used Autocad to draw objects they can put that knowledge to use by drawing a house plan.

First students are asked to do a little homework by sketching out their own house and label each room with approximate dimensions. This is so they have a realistic idea of the size of rooms for the house they design.

Next, students should sketch out an original house plan on paper with approximate dimensions included and get it approved by the teacher. this could be a Tiny House or a complex full size house. A simple and efficient design like the one shown below could be made as well.

After their design sketch is approved by the teacher, students can start using Autocad to draw up and dimension their design. Standard conventions should be used to represent doors, windows, cabinets, etc. Click here for a list of standards.

"Blocks" will be demonstrated as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKbYyfDM8qg
