    2 Pose Animation

A rudimentary animated movement can be produced with a simple series of two drawings.

Students make two drawings of the same character in different poses. They should trace the parts that don't change to keep them looking consistent through both drawings.

We tape the small drawings to the top of a pencil so that when the pencil is spun between the viewer's hands or fingers, the character seems to move. (similar to the animated gif you see here.)

A lesson in layering colored pencil is done prior to working on this project.

    Evaluation:

    2 points -- Detailed Character
3 points -- Large, bold movement
3 points -- Colored to give a sense of three-dimensionality
2 points -- Neat clean finished product with Line Weight
    10 points total.
