    First Day Discussion

Students are asked to take a minute and think about what they would pick as the best animated film of all time. We then take a few minutes to discuss, at their table groups, each person's film choice and what makes it the best.

The teacher asks each table for one of their movies and the reasons why it's so good. As they discuss it the teacher looks for images from each show and projects them on the board.

Some more discussion questions are listed below:

  • Is story more important or animation?
  • What are the advantages of animation over live action?
  • Cite an example of what couldn't have been done in live action.

  • Circle Drawing Exercises are done next. Students are given a large sheet of junky paper and asked to draw a circle as fast as they can. Practice it again and again.

    Similarly squares are done too.
