Temple Aaron representatives contacted me about carving butter during their Purim Carnival but the logistics of butter were difficult so I suggested a clay bust that could be finished, fired and kept forever.
I spent 4 hours sculpting their Executive Director, Ken, in the midst of a state fair themed event filled with food vendors and activities.
It was so fun being there, sculpting, talking to Ken and talking with children, parents, and event participants.
About 14 inches tall.

The fantastic biography of us.

About 1.5 hours in.

The sculpture as it was when Ken left. Reference photos were used for the remaining time.

At the end of the 4 hour work time.
Clay was added to the base to stabilize it for the trip back to my studio. A support rod was pressed in as well.

Some work in the studio resulted in the more finished likeness below.
Much to do yet, including adding glasses!

A shot of the event space.
